Secondly, fish contains plenty of tryptophan which, as mentioned previously, the body converts into hormones that are needed to induce sleep.

Almonds also contain magnesium, which promotes muscles relaxation and in aiding a fine sleep. You can also eat almonds to supplement your daily nutritional requirement for vitamin A, D, and E, and minerals like calcium, magnesium and iron.

Spinach:

similar to bananas, spinach contains heaps of potassium and magnesium. Additionally, spinach contains calcium which helps the body produce melatonin and regulates the sleep cycle. You should also know that you may not substitute calcium supplements to avoid spinach. Besides, it has already been scientifically proven that Popeye diet was extremely healthy

It is advisable to increase intake of foods high in tryptophan. An amino acid and an essential chemical, tryptophan helps to build protein in the body. It is found in such foods as meat, fish, greens, and eggs. Consuming tryptophan late in the day will release melatonin and serotonin for good sleep. It speeds up the onset of sleep, decreases the level of spontaneous awakenings during your sleep, and also helps to increase the amount of refreshing sleep you get. It is always recommended that you consume a main meal about few hours prior to bed time that consists of complex carbohydrates and foods rich in tryptophan.
