The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Secondary Education Board, SEB, has hinted that the administration is mindful of the kind of food boarding school students eat.
The Director of the Board, Dr Mohammed Sani Ladan gave this hint while answering questions from Journalists in Abuja.
According to him:” We want to make sure that the food we feed our students with is what we can also be able to eat , they are under our care and we are determined to give them the best.
“Since my assumption in office, I have been moving round schools , especially the boarding schools to see the kind of food being fed to our students.
“At times in the morning, I just drive straight to one of the boarding schools to eat my breakfast, launch and when I close from the office, I don’t go home, I go to one of the boarding schools to eat dinner.
” In one of the schools I visited, I was not satisfied with the food they gave our student that day, because I ate my dinner there , I called their attention to it, and they promised to adjust. After this courtesy visit, I will be going there again to see if they hid to corrections before I stop going there”, Landan explained.
Speaking on the verification exercise, Ladan said it has helped the administration in no small measure. Saying , “We are able to know the number of teachers we have across the six Area Councils and the schools that have more than three teachers teaching a subject and those lacking teachers in that same subject and we move some from the other school to the school without enough teachers.
” This will also help us to know where the new teachers live and send them to schools that are in their domain for productivity and efficiency sake” , he added.
