Alas! we regret to annouce the passing of Alhaji Hassan marafa Danbaba, The Magajin garin sokoto who died in kaduna today, saturday the 12th of febuary 2022 after a brief illness. A close friend of the deceased confirmed the incident and said that he would be burried in the city of sokoto today.
He was in kaduna on thursday to condole with the minister of defence General Aliyu Gusau.”Both Gusau and magaji had prepared to make a joint trip from kaduna to Abuja on saturday, after having his bath at about 11am this morning, he dressed up to join General Gusau in his house.
“while about to leave, he slumped. His aids rallied around him and rushed him to a hospital but on the way he died .
Governor Nasiru El-rufai of kaduna state has ordered the remains of Danbaba to the government house for Air-lifting to sokoto for burial. By virtue of his position as the head of kingmakers of sokoto caliphate he will be burried at the Hubbaren shehu cemetery where royal leaders are usually burried in sokoto.
Hassan Danbaba is the son of Hajiya Aishatu Ahmadu Bello, Daughter of the late Ahmadu Bello The Sardauna of sokoto State. He was the 13th Magajin Garin Sokoto and was turbaned on the 31st october 1997.
until his death, he was one of those behind the rice resolution of president Muhammadu Buhari been championed by the central bank [CBN]. He played a major role in the last rice pyramid in Abuja by the rice farmers association of Nigeria [RIFAN].
Magajin garin sokoto was part of the eminent Nigerians who converged in lagos last weekend to find solutions to the challenges ahead of 2023 elections, until his death he was the chairman of this day
