Nigerian Chicken Pie is a tasty Nigerian snack, filled with minced deboned chicken and vegetables.
The Nigerian Chicken pie is very similar to the Nigerian meat pie. The major difference between these two Nigerian snacks is the meat used in the fillings for meat pie and chicken for chicken pie.
INGREDIENT :
STEP 1 : Preheat your oven to about 350°F.
STEP 2 : Wash and dice the potatoes, carrots and onions.
STEP 4: Boil the potatoes and carrot in water for like 5 minutes. Add salt to taste. Pour into a sieve to remove the water and set aside.
STEP 7 : Add about 50ml water to 4 teaspoon of flour in a cup and stir. Pour the content into the meat and continue stirring for another 2 minutes.
STEP 8 : Pour the flour into a bowl, add baking powder and a little pinch of salt. Mix with your hand properly. Add butter bit by bit and mix with your hand until you finish all the butter. Add about 150ml water and continue mixing with your hand until stiff dough is formed.
STEP 9 : Rub butter on the oven tray. Break the egg in a plate and mix it. Roll out the dough with a roller to about 6mm thickness.
STEP 10 : Use a cutter to make a round cut on the roll out dough. Scoop some of the chicken sauce into the center of the round cuts, Rub the egg on the inside edge of the cut chicken pie dough. Fold it and use your fork to make a design at the edge of each chicken pie.
