The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has rejected allegations by Governor Ademola Adeleke that members of the opposition party are engaging in political persecution against his administration.
The party described the governor’s claims as unfounded, insisting that the APC has neither intimidated nor targeted members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for political reasons. It maintained that its activities in the state have remained within the bounds of the law and democratic principles.
In a statement issued by the party’s leadership, the Osun APC accused Governor Adeleke of attempting to divert public attention from issues affecting governance in the state by making what it called baseless allegations against the opposition.
The party further urged the governor to focus on delivering good governance and fulfilling the promises made to the people of Osun rather than engaging in political rhetoric. It also called on security agencies to remain impartial and ensure that law and order are maintained across the state.
The exchange is the latest in a series of political disagreements between the ruling PDP in Osun and the opposition APC, reflecting the continuing rivalry between the two parties ahead of future political activities in the state.
