Forgiveness is the most powerful thing that you can do for your physiology and your spirituality. Yet it remains one of the least attractive things to us. Studies have shown that people who forgive are happier and healthier than those who hold grudges. They also have less number of health problems and tend to feel less anger; less hurt and is more optimistic. People who forgive are more compassionate and self-confident. All religions teach forgiveness so that our sins might be forgiven too.
We offend God every second of the day and when we ask God to forgive us, he always does but as humans we find it difficult to forgive one another. Not forgiving someone is equivalent of staying trapped in a jail cell of anger, bitterness and frustration. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay, it simply means that you’ve made peace with the pain, and you are ready to let it go.
There are several reasons why we should forgive one another, some of which are:
– Its helps you move forward with your life
– You will have peace of mind
– It removes the anger and malice from your heart
– It heals you
– Forgiveness enables you to learn from the experience.
– Life is too short to hate, hold a grudge or anger.
