ATBUTH To Commence Infertility Treatment

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi will begin In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) diagnosis and treatment for couples that are infertile.

The Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Dr Yusuf Bara said this at the inauguration of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as part of the e-health solution in Bacuhi said that experts in the hospital are undergoing training at the NISA Premier Hospital, Abuja to facilitate the implementation of the treatment, afull set of gynecologists, embryologists and nurses are currently undergoing training at NISA Premier Hospital, Abuja.

Dr Ibrahim Wada a gynecologist with many years experience in the field of infertility and IVF is on board as a visiting consultant in obstetrics and gynecology, to ensure the programme go smooth and with high quality services.

He further states, a team of experts and researchers from the ATBUTH/NISA medical group are among other partners that will initiate a collaborative research to bring a cure for sickle cell anaemia.

Bara comment the EMR, and described e-health as an emerging field in the intersection of medical informatics, public health through the internet and the technology is aimed at improving healthcare services.

This will help people access health services irrespective of their locations at any time.

Meanwhile, Mr Ali Saidu the National Commissioner, Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) in charge of the North East, added that the technology will help medical care for patients making the process easier, efficient, faster and accurate.

E-health hub is one of the recipients of the NCC grant aimed at facilitating funding for the Startup of Ecosystem.

Chief Executive Officer of Prime e-Health Solution, Dr Are Abdulhafiz said, the clinic mobile app would be used to book appointments, pay bills and check medical information.

He added that clients without android phones or devices that can access the internet, a small facility would be provided to facilitate the e-health solutions usin their smart cards to make payments, book appointments, pay bill’s and other necessary information needed.
