Kamun Amariya popular known as ‘Kamu’ is one of the oldest events in Hausa traditional wedding events. ‘’Kamu’’ means to ‘catch’ the bride. This is when the Grooms family enters into negotiation with the brides friends for her release to them. They have come for their bride and they are willing to pay any price to have her. This is a really fun event as the negotiation will take up to 30mins followed by a fun reception. The event is mostly attended by the both families of the groom and the bride and close friends. For us at Tozali magazine, we love everything about the kamu event; but what really steals our hearts is the amazing and beautiful kamu deco. The kamu is usually celebrated with a classic lush of traditional style and we would love to run by some of our best pick. Let the pictures do the talking….
