Mohamed Salah picked up yet another award on Tuesday night as he was named CAF African Football Player of the Year for the second year in a row, but it’s how the Liverpool forward celebrated on stage that has really delighted fans – and team-mate Sadio Mane.
The 26-year-old didn’t know how to react after a live band were brought on stage after he received the accolade from CAF president Ahmad Ahmad and Liberia president George Weah.
But after some encouragement, the Egyptian slowly started swaying awkwardly before finding some confidence and joining in more enthusiastically, much to the amusement of Mane who joined his team-mate on stage.
Fans loved to see a different side to Salah with one Reds fan posting on Twitter: “OMG I love Mo Salah even more for this cute dancing.”
Another fan tweeted: “Mo Salah is my dad dancing at my wedding trying to blend in with my friends.”
And a third added: “This is magnificently awkward and I love it. Mo Salah dancing like everyone in Africa is watching.”
